When placing spot fixtures on a lighting track, leaving a margin from each end and spacing fixtures evenly matters for both visual symmetry and an even light distribution. This tool calculates evenly spaced positions along the track's usable length, either for a fixture count you choose or for a desired spacing (the number of fixtures that fit is calculated automatically). In spacing mode, the actual spacing comes out greater than or equal to the value you entered — because the fixture count must be a whole number.
